In a shocking turn of events, a Chief Minister was summoned by a court directing him to appear before it tomorrow. In connection with an alleged model code of conduct violation row, the summons were sent which grabbed everyone’s attention and started a big debate.

If we have to take anything from the information that is coming from the mainstream media a court in Goa reportedly served notices to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly violating the model code of conduct. While serving the summons the court asked him to be present in the court on November 29.

A First Class Magistrate is said to have served notices to the Aam Aadmi Party directing its chief to appear before the court. While the party is yet to issue an announcement on this it is said that the court served the notices to the concerned party.

As per the information the summons are served on the grounds of violation of section 123 (1) of the Representation of People’s Act and section 171 B, 171 (E) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), media reports say.

While more details on the issue are awaited it is said that the case might go back to a few years. On the grounds of the old case, the Chief Minister might have been served a summons asking for his presence in the court.

On the other hand, there is no clarity on how AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal would react to the summons and whether he would reach the court or seek any exemptions from the court.
