Arvind Kejriwal To Be 1st CM To Function From Prison?

The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party came to power in the national capital Delhi. Not just that the party is also expanding its reach and came to power in one more state. Ahead of the elections, the party faced a big shock as the chief was taken into the ED custody in connection with the Delhi Liquor scam.

As he was arrested by the ED, Arvind Kejriwal became the first Chief Minister in the country to get arrested while holding the CMO. There are a few former CMs who were arrested but Arvind Kejriwal is the only CM to get arrested.

It is known that the Chief Minister was sent to judicial remand. He will be placed at the Tihar jail for 15 days. Despite the remand and his arrest the Chief Minister did not step down as the Chief Minister.

It is being said that Arvind Kejriwal will function from the Tihar Jail. With this, he will become the history books as the first Chief Minister to render services as the Chief Minister.

In a span of a few weeks, Arvind Kejriwal made two unique feats. First, he became the first serving Chief Minister to get arrested. Now another one joined the list.

The AAP founder is now going to create a new feat by emerging as the first Chief Minister to function from the prison. Earlier Sahara Group chief Subrata Roy who completed the term in the same jail is said to have functioned from the prison during his stay.

Talking about the Delhi Liquor scam, a few arrests were made already. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh were arrested already. Former Chief Minister KCR’s daughter Kavitha was also sent to the remand.
