Ashok Leyland is gearing up to launch its vehicle body building facility in the Mallavalli Industrial Estate, situated in Krishna district, on the upcoming 19th, marking a pivotal moment for the region's industrial expansion. This event marks the culmination of efforts to overcome the delays that plagued the project's completion, which were primarily attributed to administrative obstacles encountered during the tenure of the prior government.

The establishment of this unit, sprawling over 75 acres, began between 2014 and 2019, reaching nearly 80% completion before encountering a standstill. The transition of government in 2019 introduced a spike in land prices and bureaucratic hurdles, prompting Ashok Leyland to suspend its operations temporarily. Nonetheless, the advent of a new coalition government has reignited momentum to get stalled industrial ventures within the Mallavalli Industrial Corridor back on track.

Yarlagadda Venkata Rao, a local TDP MLA, played an instrumental role in persuading Ashok Leyland to recommence its project. The proactive involvement of the TDP government in engaging with the industrial sector has been pivotal in restoring investor confidence and enticing investments back into the area.

The launch of Ashok Leyland's unit is anticipated to create an abundance of job opportunities, thereby invigorating the industrial framework in the Krishna district. The Mallavalli Industrial Corridor, originally established on 1,400 acres during the tenure of the TDP government, encountered several challenges under the administration of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. However, the current government is committed to rejuvenating the corridor and fostering industrial development in the region
