IPL 2024 Auction: Australian Players Are On High Demand!

The stage is now set for the upcoming IPL season. Ahead of this, all roads are leading to Dubai for the much-awaited auction for the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). More than 300 players are on the auction list and all eyes are on it to see who gets traded to which team.

The IPL auction is on a spree of making records. It started with Travis Head getting as much as Rs 6.8 crores in the auction with the SRH team buying him. The same team made another big purchase with a record price.

Australian captain Pat Cummins who added World Test Champions and World Cup to his name was bought for a record price of Rs 20 crores. He was sold for Rs 20.50 crores. SRH team made the big move and bought him. His consistency is said to have played a big role.

IPL teams showed interest in buying Pat Cummins and the interest resulted in the all-rounder getting a massive amount. First CSK and RCB auctioned for him. After the price reached Rs 7.8 crores CSK quit the price. SRH entered the scene and at last, the team purchased him for Rs 20.50 crores.

Left-hand pacer Mitchell Starc had hit it out of the park in the auction. He broke the record set up by Cummins as he was purchased for Rs 24.75 crore by the KKR team. This is the record-ever price that was spent on a player. It's been a long time since Stark played IPL. Despite this, he was sold for a record price.

It looks like the Australian players are a hit in the auction. Three players struck gold in the auction. Out of them, two players recorded the highest price in the IPL history and set up a new record. Let us wait and see what happens with the rest of the players.
