What Are The Average Working Hours For Indians?

Many say that we should work hard when we are young and take rest after becoming old. But the situation had changed now. Due to lifestyle changes, it has become important to earn and live a good life with spending. Keeping this aside, the data on who works for more hours and who works for less number of hours has come out.

Reports with data on where people work for more hours on average were released. Interestingly, India is in fifth place on the list of nations with high working hours. There is a reason for this as 48 hours of work per week are a must.

The data says that men in rural areas in the country who are self-employed work for 48 hours, while women work for 37 hours per week. At the same time, men in villages who earn normal wages work 52 hours per week and women are working for 44 hours per week. Coming to normal labor in villages, men and women work 45 and 39 weeks respectively.

Coming to the cities, self-employed men work for 55 hours while women work for 39 weeks. Men who get salaries work for 53 hours a week and women work 46 weeks a week. Talking about labor in the towns, men and women work for 45 and 38 hours respectively

If we look at the average working hours in a year across the nations, people in Germany work for 1349 hours on average which is just 3.6 hours daily. People in Denmark work for 1363 hours which translates to 3.7 hours a day. These are the nations with the least working hours.

Brazil is the next place as laborers work for 1481 hours on average in a year and the average work hours are four per day. People in the UK work for 1497 hours a year and the average work hours are 4.1 hours. Every person who works with a Japanese company works 1607 hours and the average work hours are 4.4 hours.

In the superpower nation US, every person works for 1791 hours a year which is five hours on average. On the other hand, every person in Mexico works for 2,128 hours a year and the average work hours are 5.83 hours a day.
