New History Created: What’s The Price Of Balapur Laddu?

A new piece of history has been created with regard to the Ganesh Chaturthi procession in Hyderabad city as the historical Balapur Laddu has been sold for an iconic price in the auction this year.

The Balapur Ganesh laddu fetched ₹39 lakh at the auction on September 25, with Sama Praneeth Reddy, head of Urban Groups and a resident of Vanasthalipuram’s Saheb Nagar, winning the bid.

The winning bid was ₹4 lakh higher than last year's ₹35 lakh. The auction is held every year as part of the Balapur Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

This happens to be the all-time highest price paid for the Balapur Laddu in history, and there is a lot of positive impact associated with the same. It is good to see the history being uplifted with a significant amount of money being paid in the auction against this year.

The Balapur Ganesh laddu auction began in 1994, when the first laddu was auctioned for just ₹450. Since then, the annual auction has become a prominent part of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Balapur, with the winning bids rising over the years.

It is a famous tradition to marginally increase the bidding price each year, and that is to be understood if we look at the fact that the earlier record of ₹35 lakh was beaten by the margin of ₹39 lakh this year.
