Betting is illegal in India and taking part in betting and related activities is an offense. However, there are a bunch of betting apps which are operating in the country. These apps often face issues with allegations of unlawful activities. A similar incident was reported, say reports.

As per the media reports, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials unearthed a big scam named Mahadev online betting case. On the pretext of an online betting platform, the entity is said to be involved in many irregularities that caught the attention of the ED and other officials.

ED's focus on this was shifted after celebrities reportedly attended the wedding of Mahadev Book app promoter Sourabh Chandraka. Massive arrangements were made for this and a large amount of money was spent on this. There are a few allegations that the payments for the event management company were made through hawala money.

A few Bollywood celebrities like Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Neha Kakkar, Kriti Kharbanda, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and others are said to have attended the wedding and they are likely to face summons from the ED.

The allegations faced by the platform is that the money was sent offshore to other ways through hawala. The money spent on the app's promoter's marriage was also said to be hawala money.

Media reports say that a few stars might also have received money to attend the events. There are allegations that the money would have been Hawala money. In the wake of this, reports say that the ED officers might serve them notice as well.

The scam came to light when the ED officers conducted raids at multiple locations. The ED also seized assets worth Rs 417 crore in connection with the case. Now it is said that the officers might go after the celebrities.
