The BJP’s first list of candidates is out. Instead of answering the questions, it has raised more questions. Instead of dousing the fire of dissidence, it has only served to add more fuel to the fire. Several key leaders, who have nurtured their constituencies, have been bypassed in the ticket distribution.

The biggest shock is reserved for the party's state spokesperson Rakesh Reddy, who worked hard in Warangal West. He has been preparing the ground for himself in the constituency by holding demonstrations and meetings. But, the party’s leadership has given the ticket to district president Ravu Padma bypassing his claims. Reddy now has been left in the lurch.

Similarly, senior leader Shankar has been bypassed in Manakondur, where the party has given the ticket to new entrant Arepalli Mohan. Ramagundam ticket too has gone to a new entrant, Kandula Sandhya Rani, who joined the party only recently, has been given the ticket.

Another big disappointment is for former minister Mukesh Goud’s son Vikram Goud. He has been demanding a Goshamahal seat. However, the party preferred sitting MLA Raja Singh. It revoked his suspension and gave him the party ticket. It remains to be seen if Goud is given Musheerabad or Amberpet.

Former MLA and loyal party worker from Nizamabad, Yendala Lakshminarayana too has been given a short shrift. He has been denied the party ticket. The ticket has gone to Dhanpal Suryanarayan Gupta, who comes from the Vysya community. While some leaders are planning to contest as rebels, the others are approaching the party leadership with their litany of complaints over being denied the ticket.
