Why is BJP not giving advertisements on digital platforms ?

Why is the BJP not giving advertisements on digital platforms for the Telangana elections? While both the Congress and the BRS are vying with one another over giving advertisements on the social media platforms, the BJP has not given any advertisements. The party has not issued full-page advertisements even to the print media.

The BJP appears to be focusing only on winnable seats. It is said to be spending money only in constituencies where it is in the reckoning. Thus, the party’s internal assessment is that there is no use spending in Khammam, Nalgonda and parts of Mahabubnagar. Similarly, there is no use spending for a few seats in Siddipet and Warangal.

The party's thinking heads are planning to organise roadshows and public meetings in only those seats, where the party stands a fair chance of winning the elections. Estimates say that the BJP is in the reckoning in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad and parts of Karimnagar districts. Besides, it has sufficient votes in the twin cities.

Hence the party is focusing only on these seats. In these districts, the party might go on to get up to 20 percent of votes. However, the situation is quite different in other parts. In these parts, the party is a poor third, opine analysts. Hence the party’s thinking heads feel that there is little use in giving advertisements on social media.
