With barely 15 days left for the polling, the BJP is pulling all stops to put up an impressive performance in Telangana assembly elections. The party is finding that it has a fair chance in bettering its own performance of 2019 Lok Sabha elections given the fact that anti-incumbency is tormenting the ruling BRS and the Congress is suffering from trust deficit.

The BJP is trying to garner the support of the caste groups. By announcing that it would make BC the chief minister if voted to power, the party is trying to capture the imagination of the BCs. Communities like Mudiraj and Munnuru Kapu are moving towards the BJP, say political observers. Similarly, Modi’s announcement on Madiga reservation categorization and women’s reservations too are attracting these two social groups.

Already leaders like Boora Narsaiah Goud and Nandeeswar Goud are trying to woo the Goud community in the state. At the same time, leaders like Dr K Laxman, Dharmapuri Aravind and Bandi Sanjay are emerging as icons of the Munnuru Kapu community, which plays a key role in undivided Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts

An alliance with the Jana Sena is also likely to help the party in wooing the Seemandhra settlers in the GHMC area and Nizamabad. The party is also trying to reach out to the voters from Maharashtra, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh descent in the boundary areas of the state. Leaders from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh are likely to campaign for the party.
