We have seen organ transplantation from one person to another person within a prescribed time. However, the organs should be transplanted within time or else the organs will be of no use. Very often we see setting up a green channel for organ transport and transporting them on a warfoot. The Scientists at Southwestern Medical Center pulled off a miracle.
Many say that scientists discovered a device that can keep the brain alive despite being removed from the body for a longer time. In the coming days, the discovery is expected to play a key role in Brain Transplantation Surgeries. A pig’s brain was transplanted in a person. Now a device has been made that can keep a brain alive for a long time.
Experts say that this is possible by dividing the brain and the blood flow if the required physiological parameters are maintained through the Computerized Algorithm. They say that the discovery will open new ways to study the human brain. This is likely to give birth to new changes in brain transplantation surgery in the near future.
Scientists say that the specially designed device will help in keeping the pig’s brain alive for up to five hours after it is taken out. This invention is expected to lead to new changes in Neuroscience. During the experiments, the near-native levels of cerebral physiological parameters were examined. This is likely to help in a better understanding of brain functioning.
However, the experiment was not done on humans yet. But the experts say that the research which is being done on pig’s mind might progress further in the coming days. If this happens then new doors will be opened for Brain transplantation.
