It is already known that the prestige Guinness record is kept for some of the most extraordinary statistics in the world, and here we have another addition to the list this time from Brazil. This is regarding the longest surviving trio of sisters in the Brazilian hemisphere.

Three Brazilian sisters with a combined age of more than 316 years are helping scientists study the genetics of healthy ageing after being recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest living trio of siblings.

Researchers at the University of Sao Paulo’s DNA Longevo Project are studying the sisters to identify genes linked to exceptional longevity, believing inherited factors may play a key role in protecting against age-related diseases and cognitive decline.

The sisters, aged 109, 104 and 103, attribute their long lives to a healthy diet, regular physical activity, strong family bonds and lifelong community support.Researchers say their case suggests that both genetics and a supportive social environment may contribute to exceptional longevity.

The fact that all three sisters could survive over hundred years as a clear indication that their DNA composition is extraordinary and that could have played a significant role in their prolonged survival.
