ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 had a successful landing on Wednesday. Indians celebrated the big occasion. With the successful landing, India not only entered the elite list of nations with successful moon space but also became the first country to land on the lunar south pole. The last visuals before the landing were witnessed by many Indians.

When India achieved a big thing, a popular English News Outlet held a debate on what is the need to do such a mission. The media outlet held the debate asking if India should spend such a big amount on a space programme.

The News Anchor stressed that India is in poverty and the country lacks Infrastructure. The anchor asked the same questions to a panellist and he gave a strong response saying that they have been from the last 30 to 40 years.

Taking the points in the debate into consideration, India is the fifth largest economy in the world and is all set to become the third largest soon. If we compare the British economy and the Indian economy, we have already surpassed it and we are in a better position. There is no need for the British media house to tell us what to do and what not to do.

The British Media outlet which tried to shed light on the poverty in India forgot what was going on in its backyard. Usually many think that poverty is present only in developing nations and we don't see poverty in the developed nations.

But the reality is different. Britain is also suffering from poverty. The official data says that as of 2020/21, around 13.4 million people are living in poverty. Around one in every five in Britain are in poverty.

As the British media outlet is asking why India is spending big amounts on the space program when there is poverty in the country, it should also do the same. But Britain is not doing this and is busy with space projects. Earlier this month, Britain made a failed attempt to launch a satellite. However, the British Space Agency said that it is hopeful of success in the future project.

Besides this, the success rate of the space programs should also be considered. ISRO has a big success rate compared to other nations. On top of this, ISRO is known for its cost-effective projects.
