Once bitten, twice shy! This adage fits perfectly for the BRS. Preparing for the Lok Sabha elections, the party now wants to ensure that the preparations are foolproof and the strategies are flawless. It does not want to repeat the mistakes that it had committed during the recent assembly elections. The party has now reportedly decided to give tickets for the Lok Sabha only on the basis of field surveys.

Though surveys by reputed survey teams and feedback from the ground had suggested that the party replace several of its sitting MLAs ahead of the 2023 assembly elections. But, KCR chose to ignore these reports and persisted with the sitting MLAs, who were facing severe anti-incumbency. As a result, the party received a drubbing at the elections and was reduced to just 39 seats. Significantly, it did change 13 candidates, of whom 8 had won.

Having learnt the lesson, the BRS is reportedly commissioning several surveys to know the pulse of the people before deciding on the candidates. The survey teams are said to be gauging the public mood, perception about the party leaders as also the outreach methods of the party organization. The survey teams are also said to be studying internal group politics at the constituency level.

Sources also revealed that the BRS top leadership is getting ready to bear the complete expenses of all its MP candidates. This is because most leaders have already spent huge amounts for the assembly elections. Several losing candidates and even the sitting MPs are now facing financial troubles. Hence, to ensure that the leaders work hard and face no money constraint, the Telangana Bhavan will fund the candidates, sources revealed.
