Ahead of the much-awaited elections, the disqualifications of the legislators after their elections declared as Void are coming as a shock to one and all. Earlier, Kothagudem BRS MLA Vanama Venkateswara Rao was disqualified as an MLA by the High Court of the state. BJP Leader DK Aruna was announced the winner of the elections by the court.

Such disqualification cases were pending against a few BRS leaders. Minister of Prohibition and Excise of Telangana V. Srinivas Goud is among them. But unlike Vanama and others, Goud faced a big relief as the High Court dismissed the petition. The petition which has been pending for a few years was demised at last.

It is known that the last elections in the state were held in 2018. In the elections, Srinivas Goud emerged victorious. After the election result, one Raghavendra Raju filed a petition seeking his disqualification as an MLA. He alleged that Srinivas Goud tampered with the election affidavit.

The case has been going on for a few years and the High Court dismissed the petition. The bench of the High Court gave the verdict after hearing the arguments of both sides. Earlier the verdict was adjourned by the Court and now it was pronounced.

In the petition, Raghavendra Raju alleged that an election affidavit was filed by Srinivas Goud to the returning officer and then another affidavit was submitted later. On the same grounds, the petitioner sought the disqualification of the ruling party MLA.

But Srinivas Goud faced a big relief. As the elections are slated to commence in November, the High Court’s verdict came as a big relief to the party and the leader. He is one of the big leaders in the party and is holding the key portfolios of Excise.
