Unlike in the past, we are seeing some interesting scenes in Telangana politics. It is common for the opposition leaders to join the ruling party and public representatives wearing the ruling party shawls. However, the unexpected scenes of late are making Telangana politics interesting. The Congress party won the elections and picked Revanth Reddy as the Chief Minister.

Revanth Reddy has been inviting the BRS MLAs into the party one after the other. In the recent Lok Sabha elections Revanth won eight seats and showed his potential. As if that is enough Revanth is on a spree of inviting the MLAs. Under a dramatic turn of events, as many as six BRS MLCs met Revanth on Thursday night and joined the party.

One day before Ashadham Amavasya a few shocking political scenes happened at midnight. No one could have predicted the political sensation. Not just the media, even the opposition could not smell this. A few MLAs and Rajya Sabha member KK wore the Congress shawl already. The next day six MLCs joined Congress.

Chief Minister Revanth came from Delhi in the late hours of Thursday night and went to his house. Shortly after his visit, BRS MLCs met him. These are the six MLCs who met him.

In the presence of AICC Telangana in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi, Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Revanth Reddy’s advisor Vem Narender Reddy the Chief Minister welcomed them with the party shawls. It is said that they were supposed to join the Congress last week. However, it was delayed due to technical errors. Budget sessions are expected to start soon. Ahead of the Ashadha Masam, a new confusion started on the joinings. The MLCs stayed at the Daspalla Hotel and went to Revanth Reddy’s house after the meetings.

MLCs who wanted to shift loyalties were invited with the Congress shawls. This political development shocked one and all. Observers say that as many as six MLCs joining the Congress would be a big shock to BRS chief KCR. Assembly former speaker Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy and Jagtial MLA Sanjay Kumar joined the party earlier. The interesting thing is that SIX MLAs and six MLCs joined the Congress so far.
