The ambitious expansion plans of TRS-turned-BRS seeming to be coming apart a lot faster than political pundits possibly expected. With the party losing power in the 2023 assembly elections after winning twice on trot, the chips are down for the KCR-run party. After its expansion plans in Andhra Pradesh have come down crashing, now it is the tun of Maharashtra plans to fall apart.

The Maharashtra BRS is now in shambles. The BRS top brass, which is shocked by the numbing defeat, has no plans for the neighbouring state. The party leaders are not visiting the Maharashtra unit and are not even bothered to lift the calls from across the state. This has put the careers of several politicians who had joined the BRS, in serious jeopardy.

In fact, KCR had previously held massive public meetings in Nanded, Aurangabad, Kandarloha, Latur and Kollapur. He had lured at least 15 ex-MLAs from the NCP, Congress and the Shiv Sena into the party. He had even opened a party office in Nagpu.

But, with the party losing the Telangana elections badly, its Maharashtra plans are in limbo. The leaders from Maharashtra say that no leader from Telangana is willing to talk to them. The ad hoc steering committee of the party, set up under the leadership of Kalwakuntla Vamsidhar Rao, too is said to be inaccessible. KCR too has reportedly refused an appointment to the leaders from Maharashtra.

Already, the Andhra unit of the BRS is all but dead. Party President Thota Chandrasekhar Rao has already resigned from the position and is all set to become the Jana Sena party candidate from Guntur. Now, the Maharashtra unit too is disintegrating fast. And there is little that the demoralized leadership in Telangana Bhavan can do about it.
