A B.Tech student Aryan Nishad from ann Institute of Technology has launched Bribes.fyi, a free platform where people can anonymously report alleged bribe demands at government offices.

Users can share details such as the department, city, amount demanded and whether they paid or refused. The reports are then organised to show patterns across India. This will be a crucial factor determining the kind of corruption that is observed across India, and it is a very thoughtful gesture as well.

A simple tech idea aimed at turning individual experiences into public data on corruption. But the real question is going to be the way in which this would be operated in the days to follow.

But nevertheless, it is extremely interesting to see an Indian tech innovation aimed at presenting the details of corruption, people online, which would bring some sort of accountability.
