Can TDP Make Telangana Elections A Four-Faced One?

Putting an end to doubts and speculations, the Election Commission recently announced the election schedule for Telangana. The much-awaited general elections will be held in November which is next month. The political heat in the state increased at once as the election schedule was released.

The political observers say that the election fight would be a three-faced one in the form of the ruling BRS and opposition Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress. Now a new doubt was raised on whether the election fight would be a four-faced one with the entry of a grand old party.

The grand old Telugu Desam Party which shifted its focus on Telangana again had come up with a sensation. The Telangana wing of the party said that the party will contest the upcoming polls and the candidates are also ready to take on the elections.

Former MLC Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj who is currently serving as the T-TDP chief said that the party will contest the upcoming elections and the candidates for 87 seats are ready. Talking about the release of the list, he said that it would be done after consulting the chief.

Kasani said that he met party chief Chandrababu Naidu and discussed the political situation in the state. The list is prepared and will be released after seeking him persimmon. We will let you know whether we will go with Janasena or not. In Telangana Balakrishna will campaign, he said.

There is no doubt in saying that TDP still has a good presence in the state and we have seen this with the Khammam event. In the wake of Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest, we are seeing protests in Hyderabad. So the party is still relevant here.

But the question is does the party possess the strength to contest over 80 seats? Even if it contests how many seats it can win. TDP can be a big player in seats where settlers are in big numbers. What about the rest of the seats? What the party can do there/ We might get answers to this in a couple of months.
