The Beryl Hurricane is creating havoc there impacting many. Several houses were damaged while the roofs of a few houses were blown off. The hurricane resulted in power cuts too leaving them in darkness.
The Hurricane started on Monday and went on to get dangerous. Islands like Barbados, St Lucia, Grenada, and Grenadines faced the impact of the hurricane. Due to this temporary shelters were set up to help the people with shelter in the tough time.
Compared to other islands, Union Island was hit hard by the hurricane. The hurricane's force was such that the island was almost torn and there was complete destruction. The island has around 6000 houses and most of them were damaged.
The island was almost washed out by the hurricane is what the authorities say. Observers say that the impact of Hurricane Beryl is more severe than Ivan's which had rocked the Island back in 2004. People who saw the last hurricane said that the current hurricane is quite dangerous.
It is said that around 90 percent of the island was washed away by the hurricane and only a few houses were left. It is going to be a big task for the authorities to reconstruct the island and the administration is seeking support to build the island back to life.
