Shocking: CBI Raids On Colleges, What’s Happening?
Shockingly, even a Telugu based engineering College came under the radar of the CBI.
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Feb 2025 5:49 AM GMTUsually educational institutions are to be kept away from judiciary if they’re operating on right terms. But in the recent past, there have been several legal repercussions for leading institutions and one such activity has happened now as the CBI has started to crack down on as many as 20 educational institutions across the country.
Shockingly, even a Telugu based engineering College came under the radar of the CBI. The CBI registered a case against KLEF office bearers and NAAC Inspection Team members, alleging that undue advantages were given to public servants to secure a favourable rating.
Following this, CBI conducted searches at 20 locations across India, including Chennai, Bangalore, Vijayawada, Palamu, Sambalpur, Bhopal, Bilaspur, Gautam Budh Nagar, and New Delhi.
During the operation, CBI recovered cash, gold, laptops, mobile phones, and other incriminating materials, allegedly provided as bribes to influence the accreditation process.
The primary complaint here is that several educational institutions across the country have been allegedly bribing NAAC inspection team to get better ratings for their colleges. This is directly against the educational regulations that are in effect and as a result, these institutions and NAAC officers are under the radar of the CBI now.
Shortly after this bus in Andhra Pradesh, the CBI moved on to flash rights on 20 colleges across the country. Till now, 14 FIR have been registered with regard to bribery charges against colleges while 10 people have been arrested.
Even the NAAC inspection team chairman Samarendra and 6 others were arrested in this case for allegedly taking bribes to give better NAAC ratings to colleges.
