The CBI Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested four people for irregularities in the supply of ghee for Tirumala Sri Vari Laddu Prasadam.
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Feb 2025 6:50 AMIt is known that the Tirumala Laddu contamination controversy hit the Hindu community very hard. This was aggravated when the chief minister Chandrababu Naidu addressed the issue and subsequently, the Supreme Court convened a SIT to investigate the matter.
The CBI Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested four people for irregularities in the supply of ghee for Tirumala Sri Vari Laddu Prasadam. The arrested individuals are Vipin Jain and Pomil Jain, directors of Bhole Baba Dairy in Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
Apoorva Vinay Kant Chawda, CEO of Vaishnavi Dairy in Poonamallee, and Raju Rajasekaran, Managing Director of AR Dairy in Dundigal, were also taken into custody.
The investigation found that Vaishnavi Dairy representatives fraudulently obtained ghee supply tenders by using the name of AR Dairy. They allegedly used fake documents and seals to win contracts. The records also falsely showed that the ghee was supplied by Bhole Baba Dairy, which did not have the capacity to provide such large quantities.
Authorities discovered these violations during their inquiry and arrested the accused under Crime Number 470/24. They were then presented before the Tirupati court for further legal proceedings.
These individuals are now going to face the legal repercussions for their actions as the investigation is going to be accelerated further in the due course.
