All eyes were on the Supreme Court to see what the top court would decide on the quash petition filed by Chandrababu Naidu in the AP Skill Development scam. He moved the top court with a quash petition after the petition he filed with the High Court was dismissed earlier.

As another twist in the tale, the quash petition was postponed to the next Monday. Having adjourned the next hearing to next Monday, the Apex Court gave key directives to the AP CID. The investigating agency was directed to submit all the documents that were submitted in the High Court to be submitted with the Supreme Court.

The documents were asked to be submitted before Monday. The bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justices Aniruddha Basu and Bela Trivedi heard the petition and the arguments are placed before them.

Former Solicitor General of India Harish Salve who appeared in the Court for the arguments said that Section 17 in the case was brought up for political vengeance and whether the section is applicable or not is a very crucial aspect.

Abhishek Singhvi placed his arguments in the case and stressed Justice KM Joseph's judgment in Yashwant Sinha's verdict. Adding further he said that the objective of the amendment was to give a filter of protection and that Sinha’s verdict applies to this case.

As the custody of Chandrababu Naidu is sought in the case by the investigating agency, his lawyers sought a ruling in the case. However, the bench said that it cannot consider this now.

Chandrababu Naidu filed a quash petition in the Supreme Court to seek directives to quash the case that was filed against him. The hearing in the case kept on adjourning. Earlier the hearing was posted to October 3rd as one of the judges in the bench had objections. Yet again the hearing was adjourned.
