Dragon Country China used to be the most populous country in the world for some time. However, it lost the tag to India. China is dealing with issues like a drop in marriages and a dip in population. Youngsters are not ready for marriage and the elderly population is increasing rapidly.

Now China is said to be working on another big step so that divorcing would be tough. As per the media reports the Chinese administration had made changes to the draft law which would make taking divorce tough. The same bill will also make it easy for couples to register their marriages.

As per the reports, the draft was announced by the administration to have a family-friendly society so that there would be an encouraging environment for the families. In a bid to bring down the divorces in the country the bill talks about having a cooling period for divorces. If a partner says no to g for divorce then the petition would be canceled.

The couple cannot go forward with the process. A few couples are said to be opposing this citing that they would face issues with the draft. However, the administration gave a deadline till September to come up with suggestions and objections if they have any.

The bill wants to focus on having an environment where the marriage institution is promoted. Experts say that once the bill gets effective then it would be easy to get married while divorcing would be tough.

Talking about marriages, the Dragon country has been facing a lot of issues. Youngsters are losing interest in marriages. Over 34 lakhs were registered in the first half of 2024 which is close to 5 lakh less than the last year. There are many fears about the trend.

On the other hand, the administration came up with a big decision as far as the marriage registrations are concerned. Earlier the marriages used to be registered at the house of the newlywed couple. However, there is no need for such a rule as the registrations were removed reportedly.
