Chinese Not Interested In Marriage, Kids, What's The Reason?

Thanks to the existing situations in the country, the youth of the country are not showing interest in getting married and having kids. With this, not only the marriage rate is coming down, but the kids' population is also getting affected. China, which used to be the most populated nation in the world, has been going through many changes in the past ten to fifteen years. The rate of marriages almost reduced by half in 2022, compared to 2013. This is an example of the mood of the youth in China.

As people are not showing interest in getting married and having kids, the Chinese government announced that it will give special gifts to those who have kids. Despite this, they are not showing interest in kids. Not just the government, but the private entities are also coming up with gifts. But the Chinese are very alert on this.

The real estate boom resulted in a massive increase in prices and employment opportunities are reducing. With this, the cost of living and financial troubles have increased. With this, they are not interested in getting married. It is said that they are not ready to face the responsibilities that come with their marriages. Even if they are married, girls are not ready for kids. As there is a chance of their career getting affected by kids, girls are not interested in this.

All these factors are resulting in the population getting affected. China is already facing issues with the birth and death cycles. As births are reducing, the population of elderly people is increasing. The youth population is coming down. Experts say that the situation would be more problematic in the coming days. South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore are the other nations that are seeing fewer births.

In 2017, on average, one woman in China has 1.3 kids while the same came down to 0.9 now. By 2019, there were 25 crore people who were above 60, the count would go past 40 crores by 2040. This would be 28 percent of the then China's population. The government's treasury is getting affected by this. This is also impacting the country's growth. The Dragon country which cannot change the public mind is facing issues.
