There is a famous dialogue from Mahesh Babu starrer Bharat Ane Nenu which says those who are in politics should watch their step. This has a big weightage in politics as the politicians should be very careful about what they say. They should be even more cautious while talking about women.

Unfortunately, we get to hear misogynistic comments from the leaders at women legislators and politicians. Such comments send a negative message to the public and create a negative image for those who pass such objectionable comments.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, a Congress leader made sexist comments at a BJP candidate. Congress MLA from Karnataka Shamanur Shivashankarappa said that women should be restricted to only cooking. He made these comments at Gayathri Siddeshwara, BJP Davanagree candidate.

What the MLA said created a big sensation with people wondering how he could pass such comments. From various sections, he is getting criticized for his unwanted comments.

Badminton player Sania Nehwal took a strong objection to what the MLA said and said that this is upsetting to see such things as on one hand the Women reservation was brought and on other hand, we are seeing such comments.

"When I won medals for Bharat on the play field what would congress party have preferred I should have done? Why say like that when all the girls and women dream of achieving big in any field they like ….On one hand we are doing Nari Shakti ko Vandan,” she said on social media.

There is a point in what Saina Nehwal said. The Congress often talks about providing chances for women candidates. I am a girl, I can fight is what the Congress often says.

But the leaders are behaving in a way that the slogan is made fun of by others. Recently an objectionable post came from Congress leader Supriya Shrinate. After Kangana was announced as the candidate the post was made. This became a sensation and the Congress had to drop her as a candidate. Now the Congress MLA made sexist remarks. Women are breaking the barriers and going places. But they could not escape the unwanted comments.
