Culturally rich state Rajasthan is all set to go to the general elections. In the coming weekend, the elections will be held for the state. Following this, the parties are busy putting in their best efforts to leave a strong impression on the voters through election promises and strategies.

There is another trend that sets the state apart from others. No party had managed to win consecutive elections in the state. But the grand old Congress party wants to change this and wants to come to power in the upcoming elections.

Congress party won the elections in 2018 and is eyeing the power yet again. Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot is talking about the same. He said that they would break the trend this time and come to power yet again.

"The party is energised. We have never won back-to-back Rajasthan elections. Our attempt now is to break this cycle of a revolving door (and) we are well-placed to do that. There is a change of mood,” he said.

Giving reasons for this, the MLA said that everyone in the party is working together and the collective efforts will help the party come to power. He also said that the public mood changed in the state and this will help them in winning the polls.

Congress party took the elections prestigiously and wants to retain the power. Recently the party announced the manifesto in which the party promised to buy cattle dung for Rs 2 a kg. Other promises like free laptops and tabs were also announced.

Looking at the election results in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party won elections in 1993,2003 and 2013. The grand old Congress party won elections in 1998,2008 and 2018. The Congress party wants to break this.

It has to be mentioned here that Uttar Pradesh also had the sentiment. But Yogi Adityanath broke this and became the only leader to win two consecutive polls in the last three decades.
