High Court's Sensational Verdict On Wife Doing Household Work!

India has the lowest divorce rate in the world. Despite the huge population size India has managed to keep the divorce rates low. On the contrary, divorce cases are increasing in the country and the cases are taken to court. The courts are giving sensational verdicts in these cases.

One such case came to light in which the couple was granted divorce as the wife is putting pressure on him to have a separate family leaving his old-age parents. Considering this aspect the High Court granted divorce to a couple.

Going into details a man moved the Delhi High Court as the family court did not grant a divorce. Hearing the petition, the High Court gave the divorce and made crucial comments on married women doing household chores after marriage.

The Delhi High Court said that the husband hoping wife to do household chores cannot be seen as cruelty as it comes under sharing the responsibilities. Talking about the marriage institution the Court said that responsibilities are shared in marriage.

The petitioner said that her wife is not contributing to the household chores and forcing him to abandon his old-age parents. Listing all these reasons the man said that he is not ready to leave his parents and move out.

Considering this as a big issue the Delhi High Court said that forcing a husband to leave the parents amounts to cruelty and a husband expecting his wife to do household chores is not cruelty and marriage means sharing responsibilities.
