Celebrated Engineer Who Designed Glock Handgun Is No More!

Handguns are one of the widely used weapons which are still in use. One name needs a special mention when we talk about handguns. Gaston Glock who was behind the popular handgun model Glock is no more. At the age of 94, he breathed his last.

An engineer by profession, Gaston Glock was behind the design of the Glock handgun. The Glock company, he floated manufactured the short gun and continues to manufacture the weapons, one of the most used guns in the world across the forces.

The gun is also used by armed forces, security personnel, and the gun owners. The semi-automatic pistol was also used in many classic films. The image of the model is that when we talk about the short guns the Glock model flashes in mind.

Glock who was born in 1929 is an engineer. He graduated with a mechanical engineering degree and started a small goods business. But his life took a big turn when his family ventured into military supplies. Things changed quickly for him with his work in the arms design.

The Austrian engineer almost revolutionalized the small arms with his design. He came up with a design for the semiautomatic handgun and then patented it. He designed the gun when the Military forces were looking for an advanced weapon.

Glock had no experience in the arm design. But that did not stop him from designing the most popular handgun in the world. In 1963, Glock founded the Glock Ges.m.b.H. which manufactures weapons.

While he came up with the design in 1979, in shot to super fame in 1982 and the forces started using it. First, the Austrian military started using it and the Police department began using it. Since then military forces across the globe have been using the weapon.
