Mahendra Singh Dhoni: The Greatest Captain In IPL History!

Five trophies as the skipper and took the team to as many as 10 finals so far. This is the legacy created by a skipper. As of 2023 16 editions of the Indian Premier League were played and a team entered 10 finals out of 16 leagues. This speaks volumes about the consistency of a team and its legacy.

Dhoni made CSK one of the greatest teams with his tactics. CSK’s legacy started in 2010 and there has been no looking back since then. Mahendra Singh Dhoni lifted the trophy as the captain in the 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023 editions. CSK will enter the 2024 edition as defending champions.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni led the CSK team in 322 matches and the team won 133 matches while the team lost 91 matches. No one comes close to Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his legacy and he is dubbed as the greatest captain.

Dhoni is seen as the greatest Indian captain with three ICC trophies. He continued his legacy in IPL too and lifted five trophies. Whenever there was talk that CSK’s legacy was finished the team lifted the trophy.

After remaining trophyless for three years from 2018, CSk lifted the trophy in 2021. After a poor show in 2022, the team emerged the winner in 2023.

Leaving a big legacy behind him Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down as the captain ahead of the 2024 edition of Indian Premier League. Young player Ruturaj Gaikwad was named his successor as the captain of the team.
