The announcement to erect a statue of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) in Hyderabad is akin to planting a seed in the rich soil of Andhra Pradesh's cultural heritage, destined to grow into a towering symbol of legacy and pride. Recently, Nandamuri Mohanakrishna, the son of the late NTR, along with key figures from the NTR Literature Committee and Telangana State Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, met with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to discuss plans for a magnificent 100-foot statue. This initiative not only honors NTR’s remarkable contributions as an actor and politician but also aims to establish an NTR Knowledge Center that could become a major tourist attraction.

During their meeting, the committee members passionately outlined the various cultural and literary activities they have undertaken over the past year and a half. They formally requested land allocation near the Outer Ring Road for both the statue and the proposed knowledge center. Recognizing NTR’s enduring legacy as a beloved figure among Telugu people, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his appreciation for their efforts and assured his full support for the initiative.

In response to the committee's proposal, the Chief Minister agreed to allocate the necessary land, marking a significant step towards realizing this vision. The heartfelt gratitude expressed by the NTR Literature Committee underscores the community’s commitment to preserving and celebrating NTR's legacy through this monumental project.

As plans move forward, one can anticipate that this statue will not only stand as a tribute to NTR's influential life but also serve as a beacon of inspiration for future generations. With its establishment, Hyderabad may soon see an influx of visitors eager to connect with the rich history and cultural significance embodied by this iconic figure in Indian cinema and politics.
