Modi-Trump Phonecall: What Happened?

After United States president Donald Trump imposed 50% tariffs in India for the ongoing oil trade with Russia, things were not looking promising between the two countries. Subsequently, India looked to strengthen the bonding with neighbouring countries, Russia, and China.

Incidentally, something very interesting has happened now as Donald Trump took the occasion of Modi’s birthday to have a telephonic conversation and discuss several topics, including the trade issues.

Shortly, after this telephonic conversation to Trump thanked Modi and said “Just had a wonderful phone call with my friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I wished him a very Happy Birthday! He is doing a tremendous job. Narendra: Thank you for your support on ending war between russia and ukraine".

On that note, Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi had also shared an interesting tweet about the conversation with Trump.

Thank you, my friend, President Trump, for your phone call and warm greetings on my 75th birthday. Like you, I am also fully committed to taking the India-US Comprehensive and Global Partnership to new heights. We support your initiatives towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict.

The is still some ongoing conflict between India and United States regarding the tariff situation, but such telephonic conversations can come a long way in sorting out the same.
