Earths Rotation Slowed Down? What Researchers Have Found?

Did you ever feel that time is not moving and the day feels lengthy compared to earlier? Did you ever feel that it is taking too long for the day? Well if you ever felt like this then you are right and there is a scientific reason for this as per the subject experts. They said that the earth’s rotation is affected.

Researchers from the public research university ETH Zurich in Switzerland said that the earth’s rotation speed had slowed down a bit due to climate changes. Shedding light on the impact climate change would have, they said that it might impact mankind’s survival in the long term.

They said that the ice at the poles is melting and the water formed with this is heading toward the equator. With this, the weight of the earth is shifted leading to slow rotation of the earth.

Overall the mass distribution of the earth is altered which is affecting the rotation of the earth in turn. With the slow rotation of the earth, days are appearing slightly longer, the study said.

To get a clear picture of the situation, the researchers combined physical laws with artificial intelligence. With this, they were successful in understanding the situation and how the earth’s rotation is affected.

Climate change is a big concern to the world and living beings. As an example of the impact climate change could have, Antarctica is witnessing ice melting at a rapid pace. If the sea level rises there due to ice melting then the species have to face the heat.

Humans should be blamed for climate change in most cases. We are cutting trees and not planting new ones. We are already seeing a clash between animal habitat and human habitat. With no place to live animals are approaching human habitats for food.

Now we have another concern with climate change as it is affecting the earth’s rotation too. Climate change is likely to have a big impact on humans in the long term as per the observations.
