The wait is finally over. Putting an end to the long wait the Election Commission is scheduled to announce the election schedule. The election body will announce the schedule for the Lok Sabha elections and the general elections in four poll-bound states today.

Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Odisha's tenure ends in June. So the election schedule will be announced for the states too. Out of all the states, AP is getting all the attention due to various reasons.

The big fight between the ruling and opposition parties is a major reason. BJP-TDP-Janasena allied. BJP is adamant about winning the Lok Sabha elections and winning 400 seats for the NDA alliance and this is why the party got 6 MP seats in the state.

Issuing the Election Schedule implies the Election Code getting effective. Under this situation, the government will not hold any power, the Election Commission gets the power and the state goes into the control of the election body.

The scenario says that the state officials have to follow the instructions of the EC and the officials. The government cannot take any measures like it does usually due to the election code.

If the government wants to take any measures then it should get permission from the Election Commission or else it should wait till the election code to get completed. This means the elections should be completed. We can say that the next few weeks or months will be under EC control.

It has to be mentioned here that for the last elections, the election schedule was released on the 10th of March. Cut to 2024, the schedule will be released on the 16th which is six days late. Now we have to see if there would be a delay in the election date and other issues too.
