The verdict of the Country’s top court, the Supreme Court, is the reason behind this. The Apex Court ordered the State Bank of India to make the details public and the names were also put in the public domain.
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the issue became a sensation. Adding more intensity a famous journalist raised a sensational doubt linking the liquor scam and electoral bonds. His tweet is getting a wide range of attention.
Senior Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai spoke about the Electoral bonds and Liquor scam and tried to link it. He mentioned a few incidents to back the argument. If we join all the dots then we can understand a lot of things in the sensational case.
The Journalist mentioned that Hyderabad-based Saarath Reddy was arrested on November 11, 2022, in the liquor scam. A few days later his father’s firm paid Rs 5 crores to the BJP through the electoral bonds.
The ED did not oppose the bail petition of Sarath Readdy in 2023. After coming out of jail he turned approver in the case and later Aurobindo Pharma donated Rs 25 cores more to the BJP.
After the electoral bonds issue came to light there were serious allegations that the companies paid money to the parties to get some or the other favours. A section of people also allege a possible quid pro quo angle. As if that is not enough the Journalist highlighted a link between the Electoral bonds and the Delhi liquor scam.
