Viral Videos: UK Roads Melting On Heatwave, What’s Up)

It is already known that Europe is witnessing one of the worst heatwaves in history. Several countries, including the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, and others have been facing the brunt of the attack.

Now there are these viral videos on social media of roads in the United Kingdom absolutely burning up and melting down, due to the extreme heat wave condition.

Although the air temperature is around 35°C in general, the Heatwave has pushed Road surface temperatures to 55–80°C causing the Asphalt(Tar) on many regular roads to soften or melt.

Fact that even main roads are getting absolutely melted away due to the extreme heat, give an indication of the kind of atmospheric heat that’s building up in the European Peninsula.

In the meanwhile, Thermal imaging has been used to reveal the scorching temperatures of urban London, with pavements, roads and bus-stops reaching up to 59℃.

London continues to battle through sizzling temperatures, and elsewhere in the UK, records continue to be broken. In the south-east county of Suffolk, 37.3℃ was recorded on Friday.

A similar scenario is being observed in other countries like Italy and France, where the roads are melting due to the extreme heat while the plastic traffic lights are also facing significant damage
