Green Cards: Big Refunds, Long Waits!

These may include home repairs in India, family medical bills, foreign donations, tuition, or fake rental losses. Some even use made-up income forms to increase the refund amount.

This may seem helpful at first, but it can cause serious problems later. One real case involved a consultant whose Green Card was denied because they claimed over $25,000 in false deductions, even though they paid taxes properly.

USCIS is now checking tax returns carefully during Green Card processing, H-1B extensions, OPT to H-1B changes, and visa interviews abroad. They work closely with the IRS and check full financial records.

Even if the mistake is not intentional, it can lead to visa denial, cancellation, fraud charges, and even long-term bans. Always use a licensed CPA or tax expert.
