The leading investigation agency in the United States, the FBI has announced a massive $1 million bounty to nab an Indian origin, culprit, and here is looking into the story.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has increased the reward to USD 1 million for information leading to the arrest of an Indian national accused of murdering his wife in the United States.

The fugitive, Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel, is currently on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list and has been on the run for nearly a decade.

Patel, originally from Gujarat, is accused of killing his wife Palak Patel on April 12, 2015, while the couple were working together at a doughnut shop in Hanover, Maryland.

According to investigators, he allegedly attacked her with a blunt object, causing fatal injuries. Shortly after the incident, Patel fled the scene and disappeared.

Authorities believe he travelled to Newark, New Jersey, soon after the murder and may have fled the United States. Since then, his whereabouts have remained unknown, prompting the FBI to intensify efforts to locate him. The agency had earlier offered a reward of USD 250,000, but has now raised it significantly to encourage new leads that could result in his capture.

Patel faces multiple serious charges, including first degree murder, second degree murder, assault, and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Officials describe him as armed and extremely dangerous and have urged the public to immediately report any information about his location.
