Film Stars In Politics: Not Everyone Is Successful!

Without any doubt films and politics are two massive fields in the country. They are also among the most-talked-about areas. When two people start a conversation they talk about films and politics mostly. This speaks volumes about the attention the two sectors get compared to others.

The two fields are also interrelated with people from one field entering the others. A few actors took the political path and added a new feather. Sometimes, political issues also become the story plot for the films.

As another example of the relation between the two sectors, film stars entered politics while some of them shined there. Let us have a look at the film stars who shined in politics.

MGR, a matinee idol who enjoys an unmatched following among the masses was elected to power and he became the Chief Minister. He was part of the DMK party for a few years and later he went on to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna too.

NTR: A demi-god for movie lovers shot to fame by playing god roles. His impact in that roles was such that people used to see him after having a darshan at Tirupati. His popularity and the political space helped him become the CM of the combined AP. He holds the record of becoming CM in just nine months of starting TDP.

Chiranjeevi: The celebrated star floated the Praja Rajyam Party with a lot of hopes. However, he could not come to power. Later he merged his party into the Congress party and he served as the Union Minister.

The list of film stars who ventured into politics is very long. Tamil star Vijay also joined the elite list that has the likes of Pawan Kalyan, Kamal Haasan, Vijayashanti, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Captain Vijayakanth, and others.

If we look at the list of stars who ventured into politics, there are a few stars who had unparalleled success as they reached the Chief Minister’s post too. NTR even entered national politics and brought many parties under one roof against the Congress party.

While some of them had success, some of them could not see the same success and had to limit themselves with the success and milestones in politics. So not every star can succeed and not the field has 100 percent failure. Based on the situations the stars faced they had their success.

MGR worked as the Cabinet Minister for a few years and then became the CM. But NTR directly became the CM as there was no other party in the state except for the Congress. Kamal Haasan wanted to be an alternative and he is yet to make a mark. Thalapathy Vijay also entered the political path and we have to see what he can do.
