The chances for India to prove its capability on the international stage are increasing massively. Of late there are a few fears of recession in many big nations including the United States. Adding fuel to this, there was just a slight increase in economic growth. But India is an exception. India is shining in almost every sector and the same is the case with the aviation sector. The report which was recently released by Credit rating agency CRISIL Ratings said the same.

It is known that the majority of Indians who go abroad travel in airplanes. However, the report said that the trend would change and Indians would prefer the native aviation companies. The report cited a few reasons for this. By 2027-28, around 50 percent of international passengers might prefer the native airlines.

In the previous financial year, around 43 percent of Indian international passengers traveled in native airlines. By 2027-28, the percentage would increase by 7 percent. It is estimated that the percentage reaches 50 percent. The share of Indian airlines in international passenger traffic would increase by exploring new international routes and adding new airplanes. Compared to foreign airplanes, native airplanes have better interconnectivity in the local routes.

Usually, airline companies see big profits running the services on foreign routes compared to the local routes. In 2023-24, the traffic of Indian international passengers increased by 7 percent. After the Covid, people started preferring international travel. As the traffic was just one crore in the Covid year, the same increased to seven crores. Ease in Visa rules and an increase in income should also be seen as a reason for the rise in foreign trips. In the coming days, the passengers will prefer the indigenous airlines for international travel. Adding fuel to this, the local airline companies ordered new vehicles.
