Couples who stayed together in life accompany each other on their last journey. We have seen it many times in movies and Manuscripts. As they could not live without each other they face the death together. This was shown in many films as a symbol of unmatched love.

A couple proved that we get to see such people in real life too. A former Prime Minister and his wife died hand in hand. The news grabbed everyone's attention and brought tears to many. The couple opted for euthanasia to die together.

Dries van Agt who served as the Dutch Prime Minister from 177 to 1982 has been suffering from illness. His wife is also suffering from the same. With this, the couple opted for euthanasia and breathed their last earlier this month.

The couple has been married for around 70 years. To put an end to their stint with the world they died by euthanasia. It is said that the couple died hand in hand.

The former PM suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2019. Despite taking treatment he could not recover. On top of this, his health deteriorated. His wife Eugenie van Agt-Krekelber was also suffering from health conditions. With this, the couple applied for euthanasia. They died hand in hand and were buried.

The couple has three children. Due to their ill health, they applied for euthanasia and got the required persimmon. Euthanasia became legal in the Netherlands in 2002. Those who want to opt for this should apply for permission. However, they should cite the valid reasons.

Once a valid reason is given then a poisonous injection will be given to the applicants by the doctors. Experts say that after euthanasia became legal, the applications for the same are increasing every year.
