A new discussion about Generation Z men and their attitudes toward tradition is gaining attention around the world. Many experts say that young men today often appear modern on the outside but hold surprisingly traditional views about relationships and gender roles.
Recent research conducted across several countries shows that a significant number of Gen Z men still believe in traditional family structures. Around one third of young men in the survey said that a wife should obey her husband, and a similar number felt that men should have the final say in important family decisions. These views were actually stronger among Gen Z men than among older generations such as baby boomers.
Interestingly, this trend exists alongside a modern lifestyle. Many Gen Z men actively use social media, support gender equality publicly, and present themselves as progressive. However, experts say their personal beliefs about relationships sometimes remain conservative.
Researchers believe several factors may be influencing this shift. Economic pressure, uncertainty about jobs, and changing ideas about masculinity are pushing some young men toward traditional values.
Online communities and influencers promoting “old school masculinity” have also played a role in shaping these attitudes.
At the same time, the study also found contradictions in these views. For example, many Gen Z men said they find independent and successful women attractive even though they support traditional roles at home.
Experts say this mix of modern behavior and conservative beliefs reflects a generation still trying to redefine what masculinity and relationships mean in the modern world.
