Indian Rupee Falling To 100 Per Dollar, But How’s RBI Managing?
However, there have been reported that the Indian authorities have been doing something extremely interesting in order to make sure that the Indian rupee does not go beyond the hundred valuation against the dollar.
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 Oct 2026 12:08 PM ISTIt is already known that the value of the Indian rupee against the American dollar has been going down consistently for the last few months. It is currently trading at around ₹96 to 97 on a daily basis.
However, there have been reported that the Indian authorities have been doing something extremely interesting in order to make sure that the Indian rupee does not go beyond the hundred valuation against the dollar.
One of the biggest publications in the world, Reuters reported that the RBI deployed roughly half of the $140 billion mobilised through special measures.
This is essentially meaning that the RBI is having to spend thousands of crores in Indian currency in the forex market in order to maintain the stability of the Indian rupee evaluation.
The authorities might be successful in keeping the evaluation of the Indian rupee to ₹96 or 97 and not cross the hundred mark, but this is coming at a massive cost to the Indian economy.
But at the end of the day, these correction measures are a constant procedure that is being followed by many countries globally, and India is not the only country to be blamed here.
There are multiple factors affecting the global market, including the conflict between multiple countries and also the oil shortage. This is a situation that requires the highest financial management, and India is doing whatever is needed.
