The advertisements play a big role in reaching the target audience. These ads are put on a big platform for a smooth flow. There are millions of ads across the platforms and there are a few concerns about safety. We are living in an era where the parties are also banking heavily on the ads.

Google is the biggest platform for these ads without any doubt. Every year the platform releases the Ads Safety Report revealing the details of the ads that were either blocked or deleted. The 2023 report is out and the data is quite fascinating.

In 2023, Google blocked over 5.5 billion ads. The numbers include the ads that were deleted too. Most ads were deleted for not following the rules and promoting the malware. Google in the report said that scams and fraud are seeing an uptick in online platforms. Fraudsters are using the platforms to scam people, Google said.

As a crackdown on the data, Google blocked or removed 206.5 million advertisements for violating the misrepresentation policy and 273.4 million advertisements for violating our financial services policy. Not just that more than 1 billion advertisements were blocked for violating the policy against abusing the ad network.

Google highlighted the role played by the AI in this and said that AI helps them in blocking the ads even before the users see them and they have taken down many ads on the grounds of various violations.

The world is all set to see intense elections in 2024 with a few nations going to the elections. Amid this, Google highlighted the political ads and the efforts that went into monitoring them. Calling ads as the means to reach out to the audiences to share the image Google said that more than 5,000 new election advertisers were reviewed while 7.3M election ads were removed as the verification was not completed.
