America Ending H4- EAD? Game Over For Telugu Housewives?

United States of America has been taking several measures to restrict the Indian population and also the international immigration in the country.

This is the reason why the United States authorities had been cracking down on multiple immigration policies, including the H1B work permit visa. Now they have started to crack down on another related visa procedure that could have a large effect on the Indian community.

For those who don’t already know the spouses of the existing H1B visa holders in the United States are eligible to get the H4 visa. This is a standard visa that is used to ensure residency in the United States for the dependents of the existing H1B visa holders.

However, this H4B visa only grants basic residence permission and does not authenticate the employment opportunity. This is precisely where the EAD which is an employment authenticity procedure that would grant the dependent with work permit.

Incidentally, the spouses of Telugu individuals in the United States had been repeatedly using this mechanism to gain jobs in the United States.

On one hand, the H1B visa holders are already doing these high paying jobs in the United States and this is followed by their spouses also doing the same through the H4EAD visas. This has become major concerned to the United States authorities as double employment is not what they wanted in the first place.

Now that the United States administration is looking to streamline the employment opportunities for local Americans over immigration population, they could be cracking down on the H4EAD.

If the United States administration actually goes to scrap this procedure that was originally introduced in 2015 by Barack Obama, the Telugu community could be in big trouble.

This is largely due to the fact that a significant portion of Telugu people who happened to have H1 B visas in the US were taking their spouses to the country through H4 visa, and then getting the employment authentication. If this is removed by the administration, then it could have a strong impact on the entire Telugu community.
