A movie can light up the box office or leave behind the smoke of unpaid bills. Hari Hara Veeramallu, starring Powerstar Pawan Kalyan, has fallen into the latter category. With reported losses crossing ₹60 crore, producer AM Ratnam is said to be under heavy pressure. Buyers are demanding their dues, especially the pending GST amount of around ₹18 crore, which has become the latest flashpoint in the industry.

Former Cinematography Minister Perni Nani did not hold back in his criticism. He alleged that the producer was allowed to hike ticket prices without submitting proper GST proof. According to him, this was nothing less than a misuse of power, and he directly questioned Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for turning a blind eye. “He lectures everyone but avoids accountability when it comes to his own film,” Nani remarked.

Nani also revisited the GO introduced by the Jagan government, which allowed ticket price hikes only for films with budgets above ₹100 crore, excluding star remunerations, and strictly against the submission of GST bills. He said the rule was designed to protect cinema halls from black ticketing while ensuring transparency, but the guidelines were ignored in this case.

As the controversy gets worse, people are not just looking at how much money the movie made, but also how the rules are broken for the sake of fame. For Pawan Kalyan, who does both politics and movies, this is more than just a bad film, it's a test of his reputation. Whether the situation calms down or gets worse, Hari Hara Veeramallu now has a burden that's bigger than its budget.
