There was a lot of debate and discussion about the highly controversial deforestation drive that happened at the 400 acres of land that belongs to the Hyderabad Central University. After the deforestation drive that was commissioned by the Telangana government, there was a huge political protest.

The matter reached the Supreme Court as a petition was filed to look into the issue. Primarily, the Supreme Court had instructed the authorities not to indulge in any deforestation activities till further notice.

Now going by the latest social media statement issued by KTR, the Supreme Court has delivered a new judgement on this case and here is what he had to say about the same.

The Supreme Court ordering the restoration of the forest in Kancha Gachibowli, and instructing the Telangana Govt that its Chief Wildlife Warden should ensure safety of all wildlife in the area is a huge win for all those who care for the environment, and its protection in Hyderabad and rest of Telangana

The BRS wholeheartedly welcomes the Hon’ble SC orders, and hopes that at least now wisdom will dawn on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress Govt in Telangana that it cannot get away with environmental murder

We thank the Hon’ble Supreme Court and hope that the Revanth Reddy Govt will not continue to make a fool of itself

I also wholeheartedly thank everyone who stood up for the voiceless tress, and wildlife in Kancha Gachibowli, particularly the students and faculty of the University of Hyderabad for their tireless hard work to protect 400 acres of forest in the city, KTR tweeted.
