The previous Karnataka government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party took many sensational decisions and imposing a ban on wearing a Hijab in educational institutions remains the big move. This has led to intense protests not just in the state but across the nation. The issue even went to the notice of the Supreme Court.

The Congress party used it as a big weapon in the election campiagn. It has struck gold in the polls and came to power. After coming to power the party made a big decision and changed the status quo of the decision.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that there is no more a ban on hijab in educational institutions and anyone can wear their favourite attire. The Chief Minister said that the choice of wearing a dress is personal and there should be no restrictions on it.

The veteran Congress leader asked is that what Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas is? He asked the party often say this but people are questioned on the basis of their dressing style and appearance.

The Chief Minister said that there are no more reactions on the dress conduct in educational institutions and the concerned officials were directed to see that no more restrictions on the dress code.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas jibe comes at the point where a few organizations and nations like the United States raise concern that minorities more particularly one community are being targeted and attacked on various aspects expressing concerns over their rights.

However, the BJP did not like this and dubbed it as a possible threat to the secular nature of educational institutions. Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party chief Vijayendra Yediyurappa said that the decision to bring down the ban on hijab in educational institutions would create a divide among young minds.

"By allowing religious attire in educational institutions Siddaramaiah govt is promoting dividing young minds along religious lines, potentially hindering the inclusive learning environment. It's crucial to prioritize education over divisive practices and foster an environment where students can focus on academics without the influence of religious practices," he said on the X platform.
