Over the decades the United States has been the preferred destination of Indians due to various reasons. Not just education, the US also offers the best opportunities for employment. Indians not only go there but also carry their traditions and customs. As a result, many festivals are celebrated there.


In a historic decision and one of its kind development, a US state took a resolution recognising October as a Hindu Heritage month. The concerned Governor announced the big decision leaving the Indian community in joy.Governor Brian Kemp formally announced this.


October has a big significance for Hindus as two of the biggest festivals Dusshera and Diwali fall in the same month. We can see massive celebrations on the eve of festivals. Indians living in various nations celebrate the festivals with a lot of enthusiasm.Now the Georgia state came forward and said that October month will be celebrated as Hindu Heritage month.

While announcing the same, the Governor said that the community made a big contribution and as a bid to recognise their contribution the big decision was taken. A formal announcement was made by the Governor in this regard.

"The vibrant Hindu American community has contributed tremendously to the vitality of the State of Georgia by enriching the lives of its citizens," the Governor said in the official release.

The Indian community is seeing a big rise in their population in the US and now they were told some happy news. The Hindu bodies in the US are happy with this and welcomed the decision.

Georgia enjoys a significant Hindu population and earlier, the state stood in solidarity with the community when a few people from the community were attacked. Now the state has made another big decision.
