Beware Hyderabadis: Harsh Winter Days Ahead

Hyderabad is one of the South Indian cities with a tropical weather condition which is largely enjoyed by the wider sections of the population. But things aren’t looking promising now as harsh winter days are projected in the city.

As IMD Hyderabad forecasted dry weather across Telangana for next seven days and minimum temperatures likely to be below normal by 2°C to 3°C at isolated pockets over Telangana during next couple of days.

Reporting of low environmental temperature may lead to spread of acute respiratory infections such as seasonal flu. Seasonal flu is an acute and contagious respiratory infection characterized by fever, cough, sore throat, body ache and fatigue and it spreads easily between people when they cough or sneeze.

People with seasonal flu are advised to rest at home, drink plenty of fluids, and usually recover on their own within a week.

The vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, children under 5 years, older adults (>65 years) and individuals with chronic medical conditions are at greater risk of severe illness and if they develop symptoms like seasonal flu are advised to consult doctor at nearby health facility.

This harsh weather could have a strong effect on each of the populations and restraints and caution are advised to the wider sections of the public for the next few days.
